Since I have no workout to share I'm going to share this really interesting tid bit! Stretching before a workout will actually make your muscles weaker for up to 90 minutes. It is not recommended to stretch when working for power or anything really! Don't take it as your not supposed to warm up before working out, it's the stretching thats not good. You should warm up before every workout! Please don't workout without warming up your muscles. But stretching is best done at the end of a workout or anytime when you wont be working out within 90 minutes.
Another key thing I want to say is make sure you are stretching!! Stretching increases your range of motion and decreases the chance of pulling a muscle, flexibility is important especially as you get older. If your range of motion (ROM) is limited than your strength training is limited. Strength training can help increase your ROM but not to the extent that stretching can give you. Think of it if your ROM is limited than your lifting capacity is smaller and your not using all of your muscle that you should be. So start stretching today!! (just not before a workout, save it for after!)
